Have you all laid your eyes on the River Island Baartmans and Siegel Design Forum collaboration? If not keep reading, you won’t regret it.

I’m a huge fan of Baartmans and Siegel, ever since I first came across them at the inaugural LCM I’ve been a champion of the label,  so I uber excited on hearing the initial announcement. River Island’s Design Forum works alongside the British Fashion Council and commissions young up-and-coming designers to create limited edition collections each season. Previous collaborators include recently Katie Eary and Joseph Turvey amongst others. Helping to push the boundaries of fashion on the high street, the Design Forum was launched in 2012 as a platform for introducing emerging designers to the mainstream.

The 12-piece Baartmans and Siegel capsule collection plays to the brand’s ethos of creating accessible yet distinctive styles, made from beautiful fabrics. The collection, inspired by movie cult classic Blade Runner is built on the strength of the outerwear and tailoring pieces with accessories and footwear providing covetable accents - all in a masculine palate of greys, black and navy.

“When working on the concept for the collection, we felt it was important for us to carry through our identity of indulgent masculinity with our signature fabrications and refined classic silhouettes,” - Siegel.

I’ve already got the beautiful, Italian-made giant scarf and I’m looking to add one of the coats next. Have you bought anything fromt he collection yet?

You can shop the collection at riverisland.com
