God I love a pun, and I love suede.
Suede offers a smart-casual alternative to off-duty looks. I’ve always had one or two pairs of suede boots in my wardrobe. Whether Chelsea, zipped or desert, they’re great paired with your everyday denim, though is the first time I’ve ever owned a suede jacket though.
I know what you’re thinking; “The stains! The upkeep!”, and you’re not wrong, but this jacket from New Look was too good to pass up. The hero piece from their AW15 collection, this suede jacket is well cut and constructed, it hangs comfortably on the shoulders and sits just on the hip. It’s super comfortable and most importantly, lightweight!
More of a shacket type, it has no internal pockets or slip pockets on the front which is only the drawback, but it’s worth it to wear something that looks so good. The best bit yet? This real suede jacket retails for just £89.99! No joke! New Look has really been upping its game in the menswear market over the last year, new store fits, and a much stronger, well-considered product offering with a keen attention to detail and fabric, all resulting in a profile boost on the hight street, especially when most people on think of New Look as a brand for girls. It’s no wonder they are one of top selling menswear brands on ASOS.
I paired the jacket (available on ASOS or NEW LOOK) with a black watch tartan shirt from J Crew (similar here), black jeans from H&M, and finished the look by carrying the suede theme down to some Clarks suede boots (similar here).
