To be honest, most days are Casual Friday for me. I’ve never been a big fan of formalwear. It’s not that I don’t like it, I do love dressing up and looking sharp for an occasion. However, when it comes to day-to-day looks, I always opt for comfort first. Feeling strangled by a tie or restricted by a shirt isn’t my idea of desk-side attire. But Casual Friday doesn’t, and shouldn’t mean giving up on looking pulled together.
Don’t get me wrong, dear reader, I don’t head to the office in my favourite Nike joggers (which I am wearing while writing this post), but I do tend to wear my trusty black jeans, a comfortable top and boots. This look is my staple. It’s pulled together but totally un-restrictive. I bought this Stradivarius jacket from Asos last year to replace a Religion one that I no longer fit in (damn gym gainz!) and it’s my favourite thing right now. It’s casual, looks good and yet still feels ‘smart’ enough to head to last-minute meetings at the end of the day.
But yes, my office does have a very casual dress code…
