A solid post-gym skincare routine is vital to keeping you looking fresh and healthy. So I’ve compiled a list of five post-gym moisturisers for you to try. The build up of sweat during a workout, plus washing and scrubbing in the shower, can leave the skin dry and irritated, so it’s important to follow your workout with some key hydration (that includes drinking lots of water, too!).

Lab Series Matte Renewal Lotion

Lab Series MX LS MAtte Renewal Lotion is perfect for those with oily-prone skin. Packing a one-two punch, this lotion immediately brightens dull post-workout skin while delivering that must needed hydration.

Institut Esthederm Eau Cellulaire Gel

I had never used Institut Esthederm products before, but I love this new Eau Cellulaire Gel. It’s super lightweight and one of the fastest absorbing moisturisers I’ve used. It’s perfect after a sweaty workout as you don’t want it lingering on your face to sweat off. I’d still recommend using a more potent moisturiser to complement this one at night, but it’s great for a quick flush of hydration.

Bioderma Sébium Global Cover

Now this one is a really interesting product - and I’m lucky enough to be one of the few to get their hands on this before it’s launch in May. New for Bioderma’s Sébium range, this Global Coverage is a little more technical than your average moisturiser. Now let me set the scene. It’s all too common, you’ve finished your workout and your face is flushed. There are many of us who go bright red after a workout and it can take too long to calm down. This is where Bioderma steps in. A naturally-tinted moisturiser that tackles targeted skincare issues like acne, the Global Cover also features a handy green powder in the lid (and a mirror) to help with colour correction. Now stick with me guys, I know this sounds bit intense. It’s a tip borrowed from the makeup world. The green powder neutralises the redness on the skin, which is then overlaid with the tinted moisturiser for clear, perfect-looking skin.

FIT Moisturising Ultra Serum

Now, I must admit I’m not the biggest fan of FIT Skincare as a whole. It’s a well branded gym-enthused label, but I think the whole ab and pec revealing creams are nothing more than a gimmick. However, this serum is super light and an easy way to bolster your skincare routine. Used solo or mixed in with another moisturiser, it’s concentrated formula is ideal for those who lift. It promotes cell renewal and increases the skin’s elasticity.

Triumph & Disatser Gameface Moisturiser

Another lightweight formula that won’t leave you feeling greasy. I’m a big fan of this New Zealand-born brand, their rock ‘n’ roll suicide exfoliator is a miracle worker. A little goes a long way with Gameface. The only con: I can’t stand these metal tubes. They break easily and leave you with product leaking everywhere. As well as unattractive packaging when worn in.
